KAJIADO TAKES STOCK OF KDSP II, SEEKS TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE.
Kajiado County has conducted a county-wide stock taking exercise
under the Kenya Devolution Support Programme Phase II (KDSP 2).
The exercise that was attended by senior officers across the departments was led by the Director of Human Resources and Development, Winfred Taiko, focused on Budget Allocation and Expenditure.
The teams submitted project implementation data from the departments for review and validation.
The meeting held at the County Headquarters, also evaluated timelines and progress across core governance components.
The Planning and Budgeting for the projects is now complete while
Public Finance Management & Civic Engagement is going on.
“We have also reviewed the rollout of budget help desks, digital expenditure tracking tools, and departmental capacity-building initiatives,” said Ms Taiko.
Inclusive consultative forums have so far been convened across sub-counties with representation from CSOs, youth, local leaders, and faith-based groups to strengthen citizen-led planning.
Participants noted the challenges & mitigation required and sought to address the gaps in data consolidation and reporting through decentralized hubs and tailored departmental support.
The findings will inform KDSP 2 Mid-Term Review and shape targeted planning, equitable budgeting, and capacity-building priorities for enhanced service delivery and grassroots development.
