Governor Lenku. ; Today, I hosted a high level delegation of our international partners to push forward our synergy of effective service delivery in the health sector.
The distinguished guests were led by the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Representative, Dr. Abdourahmane Diallo, and included the British Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya ,Ms. Leigh Stubblefield, and the Emergencies Coordinator of the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Dr Daniel Wako, among other dignitaries.
This is a follow up to our previous engagement at the UN Campus, Gigiri on September 12, 2023, where we had an interactive and successful meeting that touched on a number of programme areas.
Our Department of Health has since benefitted through the WHO facilitated training on Integrated Disease Surveillance & Response (IDSR) to familiarize the county leadership on the 3rd Generation Technical Guidelines, establishment of the County One Health Unit (COHU, supply of Emergency Kits, supply of Nutritional Supplements and today’s handing over of a consignment of medicines and equipment worth $31,866.23 (slightly over KES 5 million).
We embrace this partnership and support which will go a long way to complement the health needs of our county.
