County Government of Kajiado through the Department of Lands and Physical Planning has embarked on the process of reviewing its policy priority areas,Implementation framework,Land policy implementation, policy formulation process, rationale,objectives and principles, situational analysis and land policy implementation matrix .
In its continued reforms, the Department had partnered with the European Union ( EU) through the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations ( FAO). Stakeholders met today at a workshop in Naivasha.
The County Government Team was led by the Lands and Physical Planning CECM, Hamilton Parseina.
Among those in attendance are FAO Lands technical team led by Ms. Husna Mbarak – DLGP Programme’s Manager, Mr. Josphat Kariuki- Land Technical Specialist based in Kajiado.
Other participants attending include Mr. Jonathan Oseur-County Land Registrar, Mr. Joshua Lemaikai-Directorate of Survey, Joan Onyango- Legal Researcher Kenya Law Reform Commission, Ms Saida Mohammed– National Land Commission ( NLC) among others.
The outcome is expected to identify gaps and link the draft policy documents .
The policy documents are critical in ensuring the Department continues to impact the lives of the people of Kajiado through sound land policies and programs
